Deanna McDonagh is a drummer and percussionist from Headford, county Galway. Being a former Irish dancer, Deanna has a strong passion for rhythm and beats. Deanna has been playing the drum kit from thirteen and Bodhran from seventeen. She has a Bachelor of Arts in World Music, which she studied for four years in the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick. Deanna also holds a Master's degree in Community music, which she also studied at the University of Limerick. Deanna is currently studying for a Master's in Music Therapy at the University of Limerick. Deanna has had many tutors both for Drums and bodhran including Éimhín Cradock, Bart Kiely, Eric Cunningham, and Jimmy Higgins. Deanna has completed her Trinity of London grade eight exam. She teaches drum kit and bodhran in the drum school, Drumadore, and she is also a drum workshop facilitator. She has played in many groups, ensembles, orchestras and bands throughout the years. At present, she is a freelance drummer, drumming with different groups, bands, and projects around Galway, Limerick, and Tipperary.
